Have any of you had a dream that look so real that you think it's really real? What happened to me was, I dreamed one of my friends was making a small robot with wheels. But for some reason I thought it was real and ask him what happened to his robot in the waking life. He, of course was perplexed by my question... and from the look of his face, he think that I'm mad(not the first time, and not the last). I also had dream where my roommate was watching porns... well, it feel so real, but I didn't tell him about it. And recently, I dreamed that I wake up and on my bed was full of kittens... it look so darn real, it was a little dark and the arrangement of the furniture are the same as my waking life, even the cat's fur feel so real. Until a girl suddenly emerge from under my bed and kissed me, then I woke up. So... any kind of way to differentiate between the real life and dream life? I don't want to jump off a building because I flew inside my dream. Sometime, vivid dreams can be a problem too. And I haven't really thought much about lucid dreaming, I just love dreaming though I don't keep a dream journal. But because of the recent dream where a girl kissed me... I think I'm going to put my whole energy to lucid dreaming |

I think it is pretty common. When I was a child I actually confused my dream world and real world quite often. I never knew what actually happened. People thought I was nuts If you start writing your dreams down in a dream journal and you will get better at differentiating! I recommend it. |

Wow... anyone here have experienced a dream within a dream...? Just experienced it yesterday... I was extremely confused when I woke up Well, I was dreaming that I'm sleeping, dreaming that I'm falling and I can feel the wind that touch my face... it feel so real till I land on a bed and woke up from my dream's dream. Can't believe I need to wake up again and finally made it back to the waking world. Which makes me wonder... Is all that we see or seem, Is but a dream within a dream? Beside just because things are vivid, doesn't mean they are real, right? |

What if I told you all realities already exist, and that what you experience is what you've allowed into your consciousness? Are you ready to experience infinity? | |

Oh so THAT is what lucid dreams are! I have been having those my whole life but never knew what they were. My dreams were always so real and I learned to control everything within them and make decisions about how they would pan out etc. Sometimes they would be so real I could not tell the difference between reality and my dreams. I have been reading on this website about lucid dreams and couldn't figure out what everyone was talking about but now I see. So I guess I am lucky to have those. The thing is some of my dreams have actually been psychic dreams, like I dreamt my girlfriend was pregnant and had a baby girl and the following day she called me and I told her and she had just taken the pregnancy test and it was positive! AND she went on to have a girl! That freaked her out!

My dreams seem too real, almost like nightmares even good ones. They are so vivid that my brain thinks they're real. Last night near the end of my dream( I can't remember the rest) I was walking on a sidewalk with my sister having a conversation (forgot that too) then I see a finish line just past a weird looking tree surrounded by fern-like bushes, realizing I must be in a race I go up to the bushes and use a stick to move the leaves and make a hole for me to go through because it just so happened to be an extremely spidery bush (spiders are a common in my dreams, they scare me) then I jumped through the hole I made, only to come face to eight eyed face with a previously unseen spider. Then I woke up terrified and I involuntarily kicked as hard as I could ( I was just about to jump in my dream) and my whole body felt tingly like it was asleep (from being cut off from blood, not normal sleep) and my legs felt cramped. I was very confused because I thought the dream was real. Also I have a way to tell if you are dreaming or not (I only think to use it during nightmares) try biting down on your tongue a little if you can get a good grip on it, your awake, if it slips away and you can't clamp down on it, your dreaming. Also even if I use it in a nightmare, I realize I don't have control over the situation, freak out, and everything becomes ten times scarier. |

Just to add my two cents, I had sort of a lucid dream tonight. I've been experiencing this same degree of lucidity for some time now (not every night, just from time to time): I find out it is a dream and I say it out loudly. At first the dream ended just when realizing it. Now it lasts a bit more. Tonight I realized it and said it to the people that were with me (characters within my dream, if you will). Then I looked around to check if everything looked "real" or not. I remember thinking it was astonishingly real, and then stepping down stairs that were covered by grass (I was in some sort of park or something). Oh!! I also remembered that I had to count my fingers to do a reality check (it has been said that you normally have a different number of fingers when dreaming, so if you do and the number is not 5... you bet you're dreaming). I rememeber having more fingers in my left hand, even looking at them and seeing like 6 or so. I walked around and then tried to do something like flying. Lately, that's the point where I feel awakening and the dream vanishes. My dreams became more vivid when I tried for 2-3 days to keep a dream journal and improve my memory about what I dreamt. From that, I kept a stronger recall of what I dreamt and, without any other effort on my side, I have been achieving some degree of lucidity, although I have not been able to control the dream so far... Hope it helps. Cheers, Daniel. |

i wanted to share that sences can interject themselves into your dreams too. (for me anyways) idk about everybody but probly most. what i mean is if your in the woods in your dream, and an advertiseman or someone is knocking at your door irl, u may hear knocking in your dream LOL in the mid of nowhere! like fones ringing nearby, car honks and having to pee n stuff can put themselves into your dream, weird sometimes specially when someone answeres the fone in the dream but it keeps ringing or when i urinate in my dream then still have to go |

You may want to check out a book called "Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self ". It can be found on amazon.com. In fact all 19 reviews give the book a 5 star rating. Although I haven't purchased it yet myself, I'm planning on buying it soon, as my dreams are extremely powerful, but I haven't tapped the lucid ability quite yet.

A really vivid dream I had just about a week ago was that I was in my sisters' room with two aquaintances of mine (one male and one female, who happens to be my best friend's girlfriend) and we were playing games. In real life my sisters' room used to be my play room before they were old enough to have a room of their own. Anyway, in this dream we were playing and at a certain time (in my dream I think it was around three in the afternoon, maybe 3:15 which is significant because that's when school let's out for me) my male aquaintance shouted "Its 3:15! We have to go wait for Reno!" (Reno is the name of my crush from all through middle school, he committed suicide our sophomore year of highschool). We all run to go wait for him and he shows up more in spirit than in body. I saw him but I definatley felt him more. For a while we all played games (tag specifically) and a little while later (around 5 or 7 I can't remember) a bell chimed and Reno said it was time for him to go. At this point I came to the conclusion that he really wasn't real but he WAS in spirit, and I also knew he would kep coming to visit me. We all gathered around the mirrion in my sisters' room and my male aquaintance said a very short statement I couldn't understand. I said "You'll come back at the same time everyday?" I was panicing at this point and my voice had a note of hysteria. My male aquaintance said "Of course he will." Reno said "I will." Then he faded out of the mirror. The other boy, girl, and I were left looking in the mirror. The girl kissed me and then she too faded out of the mirrior. I woke up thinking "How many more people will I have to kiss good-bye?" Even though Reno and I were never close at all (we barely talked ever, honestly) I really do believe he visited me that night. The dream had its own sense of reality, making the intangible tangible. |
