Default How Do I go to Alpha Level?

What is the easiest and fastest way to go to my alpha level? And do I need to do it only when I am doing my AM and PM visualizations, or also when saying my daily affirmations? Thanks for your anticipated response my friends.

Default What works for me

I've tried a lot of things. What works best for me is Dr. Jeffry Thompson's "Ocean Waves" recording, with alpha waves. It's an hour long, and I listen on my iPod.

There are various programs available that will easily induce an alpha state using binaural beats. Once you get in the habit of going into alpha (you'll get to know what it feels like) you can induce it pretty much at will.

I use software from Transparent Corporation, particularly MindStereo, which lets you play anything as your medium (I usually listen to music), and it's also programmable.

I also have and use Neuro-Programmer 2 by the same company, but it uses tones and noise (you can use background sounds, but it's a loop), so it's a somewhat different experience. You can, however, easily export sessions to mp3 or other format.

I like using binaural beat sounds too, to get into an altered state. As OlderWiser stated, it may take some time to get used to the sounds.

One tip I have that I have found out for myself; If I listen without any purpose or intention of keeping myself alert, I would either fall asleep, or get bored very fast and stop listening.

Two extremes, so I learned to have a practice or exercise to do while in this state, or to learn to keep myself awake and alert when I sensed I was getting drowsy.


To get into a deep state, while listening, I learned to count backwards like from 60 to 1 for example, and with each count downward, I would imagine sinking lower and deeper into relaxation.

If it didn't completely work the first time, I would simply start counting down again, I found imagining the sinking feeling really had an impact, at least on me.



After that, I would be careful to stay aware and awake, so that I did not slip into sleep.

If you start to see dreamlike images, or hear random sounds, then you're definitely in alpha, most likely in theta..

Another poster, sk8joyful, suggests using hypnosis instead, which is also a good idea, seeing as that you don't have to rely on headphones all the time, and once you learn how to do it, it can become automatic, anytime you want..

Easiest way? Have a nap - when you wake up you'll be in an alpha state.

Fastest way? I use meditation and binaural beats - but of course this takes practice it's not a magic alpha pill.

You can also utilize the moments when you first start to become conscious in the morning, but aren't fully awake, as we are all naturally in Alpha at these times...you just have to remember to use it to your advantage...could be a habit to start?

I do that every morning....but usually I fall back asleep. ZZzzzzzz.

It works best if I actually get up and sit on the bed, but it's been too cold to do that lately.

It is challenging. I was doing it for a while every morning, but I've found the most challenging thing with all this stuff is remembering to do it!

i really think ive underestimated the power of brainwaves and visualizations.

Does anyone here have any experiences with how powerful meditative states and visualizations can be.

Like do they work better with manifesting than, just thinking from a normal beta wave state ?

as a kid I used to always achieve everything I was doing/planning.
Every night, before falling asleep, I would "mentally plan" the next day and visualise situations before I would meet them. This made me feel like I was always ready for everything I encountered

So, yeah, visualisation works very nicely for me ! and gave the best results ever !!

For meditations, I've tried various things and relaxing yourself brings you into altered states of mind where you can explore more interesting stuff. I always feel lifted to higher levels and have rushes of love coming to my heart I don't visualise while I meditate, only try to lift myself up... dunno if that helps

About manifestations, this year could be much better. 2010 has been quite incredible for me in that regard, so far, without the need of spending too much energy on stuff to manifest. (Doreen Virtue talked about it on Twitter, and boy, the closest we got to 2010, the stronger I could feel this was indeed true and powerful)

Those of you who have practiced going to alpha level etc., have you noticed a significant or noticeable improvement in your IM's compared to when you just sent out intentions?

I'm asking because I just think/meditate positively and gratefully about whatever I'm manifesting, and haven't done the levels etc.

all i know to day is to rechanel your energy and intend the alpha state till one day you are there. Or to summon up your entire life in the moment of the attempt and reach alpha state and hold it as much as possible till you know you have it, then do it repeatedly till it is familiar enough to entrer itno it.

Guys and Dolls,
I have to divulge to you that "alpha" can be achieved "EASILY" within a silent and "non-aided" enviorment with the right mind set. Please do not confuse my statements by thinking I am saying that previous methods stated in this post are wrong. That is quite the contrary. I truly entrust that the methods previously mentioned work absolutely depending on the individual. However, they are aided by outside means. These means are not a necessity. The ability to achieve "ALPHA" is not beyond the boundaries of the common mind, yet as an avid follower of the goddess, those who feel her call can embrace this path easily, for the guidance of her ways are never beyond your reach!!!

There are steps and visualizations that you must master, but nothing that those who are truly called or determined can't master. I do have to say, my previous poster's statement holds much merit.

Hello all,
Ive been practicing The Alpha State of Being for many many years, therefore Ive been fortunate enough to help many others achieve and reep the benefits of Alpha. What I have found in my education of others is that if you are the type of person that can place yourself in a state of meditation easily, then visualization is probably the easiest way to place yourself in the Alpha state. For the people I have helped and those of you that find it difficult to relax fully enough to meditate, the binaural beats are an excellent way of getting there. I can tell you this that once you have successfully achieved Alpha, you will find that you are able to place yourself very quickly. Although I am able to place myself very quickly, I wanted to experience binaural beats since I was instructing others to use them and I must say that it is truly an experience like no other. It definitely takes you to a higher level. If you shoot me a message, I will be glad to offer up any help that I can with your visualizations or point you to some sites that offer terrific binaual beats.
