I'm not quite sure which topic this fits under..but I suppose emotional mastery works because listening to these songs just makes you happy My best friend sent me this song and it's so beautiful that it makes me tear. It reminds me of the point of this forum..and the Pavlina's entire site actually. Thanks to everyone for helping us figure out "the Riddle" The Riddle - Five for Fighting There was a man back in '95 Whose heart ran out of summers But before he died, I asked him Wait, what's the sense in life Come over me, Come over me He said, Son why you got to sing that tune Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon Let an angel swing and make you swoon Then you will see... You will see Then he said, Here's a riddle for you Find the Answer There's a reason for the world You and I... Picked up my kid from school today Did you learn anything cause in the world today You can't live in a castle far away Now talk to me, come talk to me He said, Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small In the scheme of things, well we're nothing at all Still every mother's child sings a lonely song So play with me, come play with me And Hey Dad Here's a riddle for you Find the Answer There's a reason for the world You and I... I said, Son for all I've told you When you get right down to the Reason for the world... Who am I? There are secrets that we still have left to find There have been mysteries from the beginning of time There are answers we're not wise enough to see He said... You looking for a clue I Love You free... The batter swings and the summer flies As I look into my angel's eyes A song plays on while the moon is hiding over me Something comes over me I guess we're big and I guess we're small If you think about it man you know we got it all Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball And I love you free I love you freely Here's a riddle for you Find the Answer There's a reason for the world You and I... YouTube - Five for Fighting-The Riddle I hope someone listens to this song and it lifts your heart a little bit. Enjoy! If you have a song to add, please post it here.. and if you have the lyrics and a link to listen to it (via YouTube, or MySpace or something) that would be great too! |

I suppose I don't listen to much happy music (because I like bands such as Metallica and Pink Floyd, whom I don't consider "happy bands") however a song that always makes me feel better would have to be Clocks by Coldplay. The piano and riffs in this song are astonishing (even if it tends to be overplayed on the radio).

It depends a lot on what sort of a mood I'm in. If I'm just a bit 'blah' then a 'happy happy, joy joy' song might perk me up, but if I'm feeling really down, a 'happy happy, joy joy' song will just irritate me. IMO, there's a spectrum. You want to listen to a song that's a couple of 'happiness points' above your current mood. Theoretically you should be able to put together an album that would gradually lead you all the way up from bitter unhappiness to joy... |

U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (any live version) YouTube - U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (2002 Super Bowl Live) Bruce Springsteen - My City Of Ruins (live) -(when I'm feeling really down, this is the one I reach for); this is not the same version I use but it's still good: YouTube - My City Of Ruins - Seeger Sessions Band Haddaway - Life (Everybody Needs Somebody To Love) -This is the theme song to every Tony Robbins live seminar. If you've been to one, this song will be a strong anchor for the rest of your life. |

| Beautiful Day - U2 Trust me... I'm a dj and I should know! The heart is a bloom Shoots up through the stony ground There's no room No space to rent in this town You're out of luck And the reason that you had to care The traffic is stuck And you're not moving anywhere You thought you'd found a friend To take you out of this place Someone you could lend a hand In return for grace It's a beautiful day Sky falls, you feel like It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away You're on the road But you've got no destination You're in the mud In the maze of her imagination You love this town Even if that doesn't ring true You've been all over And it's been all over you It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away It's a beautiful day Touch me Take me to that other place Teach me I know I'm not a hopeless case See the world in green and blue See China right in front of you See the canyons broken by cloud See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out See the Bedouin fires at night See the oil fields at first light And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth After the flood all the colors came out It was a beautiful day Don't let it get away Beautiful day Touch me Take me to that other place Reach me I know I'm not a hopeless case What you don't have you don't need it now What you don't know you can feel it somehow What you don't have you don't need it now Don't need it now Was a beautiful day Understand what the lyric means at a deeper level and it means even more. I love this track. Peace, V.I.P.A. |

'Till I collapse ~ Eminem 'Cause sometimes you feel tired, feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength and just pull that sh** out of you and get that motivation to not give up and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse. [Verse #1:] Till I collapse I’m spilling these raps long as you feel em Till the day that I drop you'll never say that I'm not killing them Cause when I am not then I am stop pinning them And I am not hip-hop and I’m just not Eminem. Subliminal thoughts when I'm stop sending them women are caught in webs spin and hauk venom Adrenaline shots of penicillin could not get the illing to stop. Amoxacilin is just not real enough. The criminal cop killing hip-hop filling minimal swap to cop millions of Pac listeners. Your coming with me, feel it or not you’re gonna fear it like I showed you the spirit of god lives in us. You hear it a lot, lyrics the shock is it a miracle or am I just a product of pop fizzing up. For shizzle my whizzle this is the plot listen up you bizzles forgot slizzle does not give a f*** [Chorus - NateDogg] Till the roof comes off, till the lights go out Till my legs give out, can’t shut my mouth. Till the smoke clears out - am I high? Perhaps I'ma rip this sh** till my bone collapse. Till the roof comes off, till the lights go out Till my legs give out, can’t shut my mouth. Till the smoke clears out and my high burn out I'ma rip this sh** till my bone collapse. [Verse #2:] Music is like magic there’s a certain feeling you get when your real and you spit and people are feeling your sh**. This is your moment and every single minute you spend trying to hold onto it cause you may never get it again. So while you’re in it try to get as much sh** as you can and when your run is over just admit when its at its end. Cause I'm at the end of my wits with half this sh** that gets in. I got a list here's the order of my list that it's in. It goes, Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie, Andre from Outcast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me. But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy, so when I’m not put on this list the sh** does not offend me. That's why you see me walk around like nothing's bothering me. Even though half you people got a f***ing problem with me. You hate it but you know respect you’ve got to give me The press's wet dream like Bobby and Whitney. Nate hit me. [Chorus - NateDogg] [Verse #3:] Soon as a verse starts I eat it at MC’s heart what is he thinking? How not to go against me? Smart. And its absurd how people hang on every word. I’ll probably never get the props I feel I ever deserve But I’ll never be served my spot is forever reserved If I ever leave earth that would be the death of me first. Cause in my heart of hearts I know nothing could ever be worse. That’s why I’m clever when I put together every verse My thoughts are sporadic, I act like I’m an addict I rap like I’m addicted to smack like I’m Kim Mathers. But I don’t want to go forth and back in constant battles The fact is I would rather sit back and bomb some rappers. So this is like a full blown attack I’m launching at them The track is on some battling raps who want some static Cause I don’t really think that the fact that I’m Slim matters A plaque of platinum status is whack if I'm not the baddest. [Chorus - NateDogg] [Outro:] [Eminem & Natedogg Echo:] Until the roof The roof comes off Until my legs give out from underneath me [Eminem:] I will not fall, I will stand tall, Feels like no one could beat me. |

Israel Kamakawiwo'le - Somewhere Over The Rainbow Mama Cass Elliot - Make your own kind of music (I actually found about this song in the first episode of lost season 2) Oasis - Wonderwall, Don't look back in anger, masterplan Sigur Ros - Nearly all the songs. but sometimes they make me sad as well. I have several songs which make me feel good. My favorite among them is, "You Are My Sunshine." I have been told since childhood it was my mothers favorite song and that she sang it to me often before she died when I was five months old. It reminds me of her love for me. |

Ooooh! Music! I could talk about this for hours. Let's see, anything by Jack Johnson pretty much. Dave Matthews Band and Bob Marley. Ramble On.... Led Zeppelin (but I'll take anything from them as well) and.... my sons' singing in the car to whatever is on the radio. |

I find songs that make me happy are either those that make me dance or those that remind me of someone or something. BOOGY ONES Build Me Up Buttercup- The Foundations <- The ULTIMATE happy song Stronger- Kanye West Dance, Dance- Fall Out Boy Fiesta- The Pogues Come Go With Me- The Del-Vikings Sweet Soul Music-Arthur Conley Ok, so there's a few very varied songs. if you don't want stuff that makes you dance there's Everything Sucks-Reel Big Fish Wonderful World-Louis Armstrong Bad Day- Daniel Powter Big Yellow Taxi-Counting Crows I Will Follow You Into The Dark- Death Cab For Cutie (one of my all time faves) I'm Yours-Jason Mraz (because come on, no matter how many times it's on the radio, you just can't get enough) You're My Best Friend- Queen Mambo N 5- Lou Bega(if that doesn't make you happy, nothing will) Elvis Ain't Dead-Scouting For Girls and of course Here Comes The Sun- The Beatles, but if you can get Steve and the Cockney Rebels, their's is happier. Well I hope it helps |
